I just purchased a used exhaust and I've heard many people having to create their own gasket where the exhaust connects to the cat.. What do you guys use and how do you make a gasket?
I'm not sure you can order one of those "triangular" exhaust gaskets from Honda. It's not an OEM item. The stock gasket is nothing like what you need for an aftermarket cat back.
It looks like this:
When I bought my exhaust new it came with all the necessary gaskets. Ask the seller if they have the gaskets you need. I would try a muffler shop or automotive parts store if you can't find one I guess.
i just picked up a used fujitsubo and am missing that gasket too
i tried several muffler shops but it's difficult to find a good fit. the diameters they had weren't metric, and the three holes for the cat studs wouldn't line up.
the o-ring gasket that connects the left muffler is a bitch to match. i'm pretty much f**ked with this one. might have to just go with a liquid gasket
i called a few fujitsubo dealers and the accessories cost $50, with a 4-6 week wait. that just about cancels the savings and timing from buying it used
ill probably end up buying the JEGS exhaust sheet (thanks nate for the link) for the cat gasket
here's a pic of the items i'm trying to source (stole it from this thread, hope the OP doesn't mind)
