Your flood has arrived:

Foster Park:

Foster Park Walkway:

Notice (I was standing in 8" of water when I took this ):

Bridge over Blufton Road

Intersection of Broadway and Rudisill:

St Mary's River

Harrison Ave (?) Bridge (over St Mary's River)

And some random odd pictures from my 2 1/2 hour stroll:

A hideous house (my camera didn't pick up the colors quite right... it's a pale purple):

The Fort - gone PC (The Fort is a replica of Fort Wayne from the late 18th century... this was on the side of it, I thought it was funny)

Downtown Fort Wayne - The Courthouse (from the St Mary's River)

Downtown Fort Wayne - Skyline

I left my tripod in my car... and was forced to leave the shutter open way to short.. thus the dark/shaky images. Oh well!

Yes, these pictures were taken in the last 4 hours. It's still raining - you can see it in some of the pictures. I don't think the St Mary's has crested yet, either.

The St Mary's is expected to go up 1-2' more, in which case it will completely flood out that one intersection. The Maumee is expected to go up 6' by thursday, in which case all of downtown FW might be flooded. Kinda cool!

Damn Billy! I didn't realize there was flooding over there. Isn't it supposed to be summer?

Yes, it's been very warm here, just rains every day. The water was up a couple more inches since last night, though the St Mary's gauge shows it has crested (at 414% of flood water flow ). The Maumee is still steadily rising. Tonights pictures should be interesting!

Note that every river around here is at or near flood stage...

Wow! We haven't had bad flooding here since 1996.

Seems to happen fairly often here!

Of course, in a flat area with 3 rivers... what's to be expected?
