Default Gas Mileage

I've been getting pretty crappy gas mileage on my S2k. Not even close to the 20city/26hwy listed.

Tried Redline SI-1, changed my shifting style to skipping gears (on hwy 1-2-4-6, city 1-2-3-5-6 or 1-3-5-6), trying to shift always around 3k rpm's. On hwy going between 65 to 75mph, I'm always in the 4-5k rpm range.

What else should I try?

I never run my tank until the light comes on so I'm not 100% sure of what my MPG is. How do you guys gauge yours? The gas meter is so inaccurate its not even funny. I will be at about 3 bars above half a tank at about 80 miles and by time time I get to the mid line I am at ~150 miles. The last half always goes quick.

I tend to average 23-24mpg with a pretty crappy commute.

I have gotten as much as 29 on a 125mile freeway run though.

Nope. Will be doing that in approx 1.5 months when I go in for my 15k service. Changing all fluids etc...

Diff oil change will help gas mileage?

Set the trip meter when you fill up. Next time you fill up, divide the gallons you put in by the number of miles on the trip meter. It's really not too complicated....

I get 18 mpg city, As high as 26 on the highway. Keep my rpm 3.5 - 4 K in city driving.

Fun.
Why don't you just get an electric car?
