Default 2 big thumbs up for the New 07 MTF

i just finished switching out my 2006 tranny fluid for the New Honda OEM 2007 tranny fluid. Part # 08798-9031. Note: Silver bottle, White top, so you know you're getting the new stuff.

Much, Much better cold shifting!! better warm shifting.

highly recommend you guys give it a try!

Per the bottle:

*New and improved formula that meets Honda quality standards
*Improved shift quality
*Lower fluid friction
*Better fuel economy

mmm...

i was under the impression that you change out your MTF at 60,000 miles on the car. Nothing over, nothing short of.

A buddy of mine claims that if you forget to change it at 60K, then you're better off without ever changing it?

Anyone hear something similar?

This is the only forum or car where the people change the tranny fluid almost as often as their oil.

If this MTF is better than old Honda MTF, I am totally there.
The old MTF was good as is.

You can change it as often as you want. Some do it in regular intervals, whereas I do as soon as it gets a little notchy.

pookie0744, that's the kind of thing you do with automatics. Once an automatic transmission gets worn a certain amount or has F'd up fluid, a fluid change may just make it stop working. It's because the varnish buildup in the tranny acts almost like additional thickness on the valves and seals. If you then put in fresh fluid or flush the tranny, you clean out the varnish, the clearances open up and suddenly the fluid pressure drops and you start getting slipping, if the tranny works at all that is.

Lots of shops won't change the fluid on an automatic that's showing signs of fluid breakdown.

For manual tranny's. Wel,l I'm like the other guys, I change it as soon as I detect changes in the way it shifts. I typically change before every track day too.
