Default Checking your ECU error code.

And there wasn't a definative post I could point him too.

Find the OBD II Port in the passenger footwell in the corner where dash meets centre column.

Stick a paperclip in pin 9.

and then earth it (i used the bolt behind the knee pad thing on the side of the center console)

I just got a 2 long, 3 short.

Check the "23" against the list in the FAQ

Says "Knock sensor", well, mine is bust so that'll be that then.

Kinda hoped so, I'd been looking for an age on how this was done ..
Took about 3 hours of OBD II google hunting to work out what the score was.

I have a paperclip with about 12" of wire as my "tool".

Want me to pad it out and add pics?

(This is for a MY00 JDM BTW, dunno if any others are different)

I have tried this today but i dont think it worked. I got one flash, i thought i would cycle through, continously showing one flash.
which indicates it the 1 O2A - Oxygen sensor #1 .

I got the cable and software on a palm that lets you get all the error codes and stats inc performance (speed, accelleration, airflow, temps).

Hmm.. havent tried on the S - will dig it out and charge it up
