XM radio Q (sorry if this has already been hashed out!!!)
I have the Terk XM commander set up. Originally it was fm modulated in my other vehicle but now I want to do a direct link using an aux adapter.
I am looking at either:
Blitzsafe - part # HON/XM DMX CMD V.1 or
PIE - part # HON03/PC-SON
Do both of these do exactly the same job???? (The blitz is almost twice as much $$$ as the PIE)
These are direct plug-in on the 04 stock head unit, but does anyone know if there is an adapter available that connects 14pin female to 14pin female??
I am thinking that I want to try to hook all this up through the "xm ready" sub harness in the trunk rather than the back of the headunit (keeping the option of oem cd player open for the future).
Lastly, anyone know where sells this at the best deal????
currently i am getting $69 for the PIE and $109 for the blitzsafe
Thanks in advance for you help. btw...i know everyone has their own opinions, but this is the exact setup I have. I dont want to buy another headunit, buy different receivers etc. I want to make this work. Please dont tell me to buy more equipment!!! (except the adapter!!) thanks!!

It sounds like you've got the right idea.
Blitz for 99:

Unclear about the PIE. THe specific one you mention lists here for $99, but it doesn't say it works with the S. The other Honda PIE adapter comes up as $49.

The guy who runs that store is "Ziggy," owner of the xm411 forum, and is extremely knowledgable. I've ordered stuff from him before and it's always been good.

ok here's my problem:
I emailed Blitzsafe asking about the adapter Q i posed above:

Do you offer some form of adapter that will connect the 14pin female plug on your product # HON/XM DMX CMD V.1, to the 14pin female plug on the vehicle sub-harness in the trunk?
blitzsafe wrote:
I cannot be sure if it will work with your 04. Our adapter integrates into the back of the radio, not in the trunk. We have not had a chance to research the Sat ready radios.
S2000GT wrote:
Do you mean your adapter might not work if I use the cd 14 pin socket on the back of the radio either??
blitzsafe wrote:
That is what I am implying.
So it looks like either way the blitzsafe might not work with the stock 04 headunit afterall.
Has anyone used this item and got it to work - remember in the stock 04 headunit.
Obviously, this is my preferred option because I wouldnt have to tap power from the car, which I would need to do with the PIE.
Chug...thanks for the links...funnily enough, if you delve deeper into the PIE application charts (and ignore the model listing on the myradiostore site), then they list the PIE - part # HON03/PC-SON as specifically working with the 04 S2000.
http://www.pie.net/appl_aux.pdf
So its looking more like the PIE....i am posting on xm411 too so am talking with ziggy too. He is obviously dealing with all sorts of applications, I would prefer someone from here to give me the definitive S2000 answer.
Terk Commander direct wired to 04 headunit....Anyone???

I just called PIE....their toll free tech support # is 1-800-330-9754 (as they dont list it on their site)
The guy said I need:
# HON03/PC-SON They also told me that I dont need to tap a power supply as this takes a direct feed from the head unit. its just plug and play on the 04 S2000.
Looks like this is what I will go with unless anyone else has any better ideas.
Speak now or forever hold your peace
