As some of you know we've been snowed in over xmas and the weather up here has been quite bad. I managed to get out on Tuesday 28th Dec in my mates van (nearly breaking my neck slipping on ice whilst walking down my drive). On our way to Derbyshire we saw a car on it's roof in a field near us, and 2 accidents on the motorway. Nearly all the snow had gone by Tuesday morning but the roads were covered in black ice.
I got a call from another mate of mine last Wednesday night saying he'd crashed his car the day before, about 2 miles from my house. The accident happened on the A666 between Darwen and Egerton about 6am. He was travelling to work heading towards Bolton (road is a wide clear 50 limit over the moors, but notorious for accidents). Whilst rounding a long sweeping left-hand bend the car hit black ice and ended up going over the kerb, over a low wall, dropping about 4 feet on the other side of the wall and eventually coming to a halt on it

Yowzers!!!
If he didnt go to the docs/A&E, I would tell him to go asap. I know that he may only feel a sore neck, but it's important to have it checked.
Not meant to alarm you, him or anyone, but there's enough stories of people wandering round with fractured necks after accidents that it would be stupid not to really.
Hope he's ok.

we had an interesting and scary conversation with the MX5 guys up here about the lack of roll bars in the MX5
Apparantley those chrome roll hoops you see are often "faux" :eeek:
Wouldn't like to roll one of them....
