My Multimedia/Navigation System Revealed!
I know this belongs in 'Electronics' section but I promised a lot of people I would post this eventually. So, before I pull it all apart and do some really creative fabrication I would post a few pictures of my Alpine IVA-C800, 6-disc changer, ERA-G320 eq/listening position selector, and Dynaudio components. I bought a new dashboard and plan on fabricating a few fiberglass pieces to make the stereo integrate into the dash better... and then cover all fiberglass pieces with the original dash's vinyl (for a perfect match). I will post pics after everything is revised...
Here's the eq in the door face + navigation closed...

Here's the changer revealed with Navigation screen out...

Finally, here's the 3" midrange and 1" dome tweeter from the Dynaudio component set...

Needless to say, I am not at all shy about modifying my car. Plus, putting it back to stock merely requires purchasing another $325.00 stock dashboard. Sure this is a driver's car, but it's even more fun to drive with a really cool stereo

Rick, you're awesome!! I was thinking of changing the carpet the next time I remove my interior (I am on the search for the ultimate automotive carpet... what kind doeas Bentley use?!?). If I can't get the greatest carpet known to man woman or child... then Rick's console cover it will be!
As for the other questions: I removed the stock headunit cage, moved the verticle dash frame tubes apart a bit, and then mounted the changer on top of the SRS control box:

I had a shoehorn handy just in case!
Next is going to be the subwoofer: I'm going to mount a 10" BostonPro sub at the top of the passenger's footwell (just like a trick NSX install I saw). This way all speakers will be in the passenger compartment... with all sound coming from in front of the passengers, imaging should be exceptional!
