Rubber spacers in stock springs
So I just put the S2K up on jack stands to install Eibach Pro kit springs and what do I find on the stock springs? Rubber spacers! I did a search on the board and found that they help raise the car for transport and are supposed to be taken off at PDI.
I have 6000 mi on the S2K. So should I take out the spacers and run the stock springs for a while or install the Eibach springs now?
I thought the car was high but thought that was due to the stock springs. It rides firm but I didn't know that was due to these silly rubber inserts
Stock height with rubber inserts and springs was about 27 inches from floor to top of wheel well. Now it rides 1" lower without the spacers.
I'm just glad I found out about these spacers. I'm sure alot of other drivers have them on and don't know it.

I'd say you need to drive it on stock springs for awhile and make sure nothing's broken/damaged. You should bitch out the dealer too. At the very least get a free alignment. Lord only knows what yours is now.
6000 miles???
Im sorry....but I cant believe you didnt notice. I worked for a dealership and the car is nearly undrivable with them installed.
Take the car to the dealer. If ANYTHING is damaged, get a new car at their expense. It is 100% their responsibility to take it out....its in their handbook.

There are a few horror stories of folks losing control of their cars because those spacers were left in the springs. In a way, you were very lucky.
I've seen a number of brand new S2000's on dealer lots that still had the tag wrapped around the gear shift telling them to remove those spacers!!! There's absolutely NO reason for them to miss this important piece of prep work before delivery. By all mean, send AM a nicely worded letter. I'd also personally take the spacers back to the dealer and ask to talk to whomever is in charge of new car make ready and the general manager at the same time. It would be interesting to find out if any of them know what the spacers are.
Glad you found them "before" you had any serious consequences.

Anyone who finds these spacers should take them back to the dealer and chuck them through the window.................just like the old lady in the 4-day tire store ads.
There is only ONE excuse for the dealer leaving them in: STUPIDITY.
We (those of us on S2KI), have been yelling about this for a while. Unfortunately Honduh does not listen to us.
Seriously, take the car back in and demand compensation. Alignment for one, tires for another after that many (6K) miles!
I'd also contact AHM, to help out the next owner.
