Default Tein Hood Dampers for the S2000

Having ordered my set of Tein Hood Dampers from Envy Motorsport (5% discount, a-thank you!), I attempted to fit them. Everything was going well, all the bolts went on nicely, took a little bit of thinking about the hood brackets, but I got there!

Hooked up the dampers and blow me if they weren't too strong for the lightweight aluminium hood! iIthink if I had forced them down, i'd have bent and damaged the hood, and that aint me over-reacting!

Has anyone else fitted Tein Hood Dampers, and if so successfully? I checked out the Dampers themselves and I had to use an amazing amount of effort to close them. Theres a handy little sticker on the arm that says 38530KG... i hope this aint the compression load!!

Obviously help and suggestions would be good at this point!

Yep, have these installed on cf bonnet and no problems. I'd check the instructions as well

Can someone please post some pictures to show their successful installation? And also take a picture showing this code pictured above on their dampers? I shall upload mine tonight.

Not convinced I've done the installation wrong; mwhen I test the dampers I had to really LEAN on them to get them to retract! I could not squeeze them together with my hands, I had to put one end on the floor and push with a force that was way too high.

Possibly I have some faulty dampers, but worth checking before going back and kicking up a stink!

I doubt that sticker means anything to do with pressure - 38 tonnes is a bit unreasonable to expect

Good lad thanks Steve. Thats exactly how my install looks!! Just to be absolutely sure, can you take one more pic of the bracket mounted to the hood bracket?

I was told from the other side of the pond that it was probably a REALLY bad idea fitting hood dampers to an aly hood due to the fact that you WILL bend it. Just thought I'd mention it...
