Default R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo

Coming through London earlier, near Regent's Park and saw my first R8 on the road.

I've seen a couple on display before and haven't been all that impressed.

Same goes for today. A Black one coming towards me and my first thought was, "Is that an R8, no, looks like a TT but there's something odd about it."
Not until I got a better view down the side could I tell for definite.

The proportions look wrong, slightly stretched behind the door (caused by the sides slabs?) And the windscreen looks too vertical.

Shortly after I saw a Gallardo (drive across a junction, so side on view) and it looked a bit small. No real presence, visual or aural tbh.

Is it just me or does the Gallardo look like a 5/8 scale model of a "proper" Lambo?

Modern supercars, just not "special" enough?

The oil burning R8 prototype looks like it'll have a load more road stature.

The mini lambo's are a bit weeny. Saw two Murch' on the weekend. Damn, they are BIG cars.

The Gallardo Superleggera is not much bigger than the Elise when I parked up next to one.

Still loved it though.

I didn't know we had more than one queen!

Are you sure all these supposed R8s you keep seeing aren't TTs?

My mistake!

No, theres loads of R8s round here in Sheff.. in fact the weekend before last, a yellow Gallardo, red F430 spider and white R8 came racing down Ecclesall Rd in convoy..!

And that white TT i think is the actually one from Niche owned by a guy i know. Hes had the sideblade thing painted white now but the car draws loads of attention when its parked up outside his shop!

I passed a Gallardo Superleggera yesterday evening in Alsager, he obliged my appreciative nod with a glorious v10 parp, down the road - mmmm nice

I saw one for the first time in a village local to me. Thought it looked a bit odd being so dinky.
