Has anyone put MY04 wheel's on a pre MY04? What must be done?

The summer is the time for buying new tires, so I am thinking about getting new rims as well. For those that have bought the MY04 rims for their MY00-MY03's, what has to be done? I have never bought rims before so this is going to be a new experience for me. Are their hidden cost that I need to look out for, or will it just be an even, straight up swap?

Thanks in advance!

You're gonna have to give up a ton of money. Look on ebay, a set of 04's are going for 1300, and someone on here sold a set for 1600. IMO, you might as well get some Volks, works or BBS.

marco, i believe the offsets HAD to have changed - since the wheels are now wider....front and rear.

Hey, can PLYRS 3 meet up with one of the other guys there and do a wheel "fitting" and confirm to us that it really does work? I think the '04s are a direct bolt on (99% sure). The bolt pattern should be the same and I believe the dimensions of the brake and suspension parts are the same so they won't rub. The offsets may have change only slightly so that the wheels/tires don't stick out anymore than before due to the extra width.
The only concern would have been the fronts but I've set that concern aside since someone here has already run 225s there and they don't rub when the steering is turned full lock. 215s will not be a problem.
I'll be getting '04 wheels when my current tires wear out.

Your right...what I should have said is the offsets are the only thing that changed.

yeah, i got no problems with that....

i'm actually getting my c/o's put on in a couple of weeks - if people can wait, that would be the most convenient time (and place) to do it.
