Default Minor Accident

Car slided when i vtecd on 2nd gear and passed a car. To avoid hitting the car i was passing, i breaked and car was throwed out of the road, hitting some little trees and a stone. Not much damage, front bumper is gone, i dont know about the under of the car yet, at the back the left light and left side of the bumper is hit. No rolling or anything, when i slided out the road and hit a stone by the side of the car (back-left) the car nearly rolled (went up 45 degrees than hit down again).

I'm going to be working with the insurance on the fixing process so i need to know:

-Does the 2004 front bumper fit the 2001?
-What comes in the package of the front bumper? will i need anything else to fit it on my 01?
-Same questions for the rear bumper aswell.
-there might be damage on rear axle or diff bcoz when i was trying to take the car out of where it was stuck at, i put reverse on and left wheel was turning but right one wasnt! why? maybe when i hit the ground something broke, i'll see that tomorrow and let you know.

Both the new front and rear bumper will fit on your car.
I just installed the '04 front bumper on my car a few days ago.

Here is the thread:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=312278
Read this and you will see what I ordered and what someone else ordered.

The following is a little bit of extra info that you might find useful:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=318914

The rear bumper only requires a couple of small brackets to be made:

The pictures are gone but the info might be helpful.

Look in the FAQs at the top of Technical for other threads on this.

Looks like your LSD is not working. When one wheel spins, the other one should get some power to it and also turn.

Thanks xviper, what's LSD?
like i said i dont know about what's the damage under the car yet, i'll see the car tomorrow and i'll take pictures, i'll post them for your opinions. I'll be asking some questions on this thread later bcoz i need information, i dont want the insurance company (who also owns the repair place) to go for cheap solutions instead of 'safe' solutions.

Thanks.

well hopefully they will use Honda OEM parts. some companies will try to go "cheap" on parts and use what they call "like OEM" or whatever. IMO don't let them cheap out on you.

Okay, I have to ask...What about the accident you described is "minor"?

Also, what does going into VTEC have to do with the story? Something about the engine changing its' dynamics caused the wheels to spin?

lysergic di-methylene.

oh, wait, xviper was right.

Just to add...the worst thing you could have done was brake. The fact you hit the brakes is why you had the accident. the right thing to do is ease off the gas and counter the spin. DO NOT LIFT YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS. EASE the gas.

"lysergic acid diethylamide" to be exact. But I'm sure to a druggie, it just don't matter.

hey man im so sorry about your accident. i had almost the exact same accident happen to me about 6months ago, i hit vtech in second passing a car and went through a dip filled with water and spun out and went over a curb. jacked up my front bumper, front left and rear wheel, and broke a tie rod or two. just be sure to claim both sides of suspension as jacked or else your car will feel broken in on one side and stiff on the other (pretty annoying).
