ITB = Individual Throttle Bodies.

In the normal, single throttle body setup that come with most cars, there is a single intake throttle body. But because of the way the intake manifold is shaped (among other factors), the air that comes in is not distributed equally among the four cylinders.

Not sure how the S2000 fuel system works, but if it is like most cars, the fuel is equally distributed among cylinders. So if the air is not distributed equally, then some cylinders run richer/leaner than others.

I know in the 91-95 MR2 Turbo this was a problem because one of the cylinders ran much leaner than the others, so when the car was tuned for max performance and something went wrong, that cylinder always blew. Ofcourse, that car had MAF system while I *think* the S2000 is a speed density-based fuel system (just a guess). Still, I doubt fuel is calculated on a per-cylinder basis, and if it's not, then the ITB is supposed to help keeping the a/f ratios consistant across cylinders.

Forget about those...think VORTECH .if I am not mistaken, those cost as much as a SC. Although they look beautiful. Miniboost, good info.

Learning is fun. Learning the hard way sucks.

It's actually a musical instrument that plays very sweet, very LOUD music, that will stir the soul of most car nuts.
