Default VGS Steering wheel, anyone?

Has anyone managed to get the VGS steering wheel on a normal S yet? I've done a search and I don't think anyone has managed to do this. Correct me if I am wrong guys...

Rumor is it is definitely NOT possible... I remember reading about it in the forums a few months ago.

I think Marcucci tried it, or at least researched the possibility.

Not possible. Honda won't send them out to any non-v-type owner. Or so i've heard at least... But it would make sense for v-type owners to get them and sell them to others for a high price, so i guess it is possible for someone to have it, right?

It's not possible, it was confirmed by folks that visited Honda and Mugen in Japan that the 2 cars use different spines (can't think of the correct term at the moment) to attach the steering wheel. So it wouldn't fit in a normal s2000. At minimum the entire assembly would have to be changed out.

Prepare to change your steering column as well. The splines for a regular s2k steering wheel are different than the RHD VGS type...

I have been looking to get VGS steering wheel as well. I was swayed by the Mugen Steering wheel but I am back to the VGS. I am having my friend who works for Honda look into it. He can usually get any thing that is Honda, JDM or USDM. I will post again and find out. Also at a very reasonable price. We have importers that we know that will not charge a arm and a leg.

Can somebody explain to me why people continue to debate this?

1. The s2000 and VGS model have been available for over 4 years now.
2. Honda Japan Engineers have stated that it is not a simple swap of steering wheels.
3. The old saying that if it could have been done it would have been applies.
4. YOU DON"T OWN A VGS WHY PUT A VGS STEERING WHEEL ON THE CAR!

Number 4 is as dumb as all the Civic, Accords, etc that shouldn't have the Type R badging.

The reason I would want the VGS steering wheels is that it is the only airbag equipped wheel with a flat bottom, making it easier to get into and out of the car. I couldn't care less whether it was a VGS or not, that flat bottom makes life a lot easier, the fact that its OEM makes it all the better.
