Default What will put you lower? Taitec seat rail or mugen seat rail?

Hey guys Im looking for the lowest seating position I can get. I am curious if anyone knows what rail will sit a race seat closer to the floor, the Taitec rail or the Mugen. (hopefully the Taitec because it costs less heh)
If anyone has any info I would appreciate it!!

The IDi rail is the same thing as SoS's. We've carried them for quite some time. I currently have one in my car with a Sparco seat, and I will say this - depending on how tall you are, it will not drop your head that much.

If you want something lower - and lighter, go with the Mugen seat and rail. I've rode in both and the Mugen is nice, but.... I'm a thin guy and that seat pinches the hell out of my sides and doesn't hold me in that well. I'm sure with added cushioning it would help, but that wasn't an option at the time.

If you have questions regarding fitment of the seats to get them at the lowest point, just ask away. Don't forget to check the Library section under Interior (If I remember correctly) about lowering the seating position with the stock seats. Its about a four hour job but does lower you over an inch.

Thanks for the help!
Looks like I will run the Mugen rail, but I think I will use a recaro SPG seat because it is FIA certified and I dont think I want to deal with a seatback brace for the mugen seat.
I asked king and they said the mugen rail would fit with any side mount seat, so Im assuming the SPG will work with it.. Otherwise I will find out the hard way I guess

get ready for the hard way

the side plates on mugen have only holes specifically for their seat.
unless the sparco has exact position, it won't bolt on. you will have to drill holes which isn't a problem as you can now customize it to you exact position, as long as there is a place on the plate that will work. furthermore, a seat will only fit that is as narrow as mugen, or up to 2cm wider(there is a approx. 1 cm spacer/hard bushing that comes between seat and plate.

furthermore, the seat rail part number for passenger is for right hand drive Japan model, so that's what fits our Driver side...and vice-versa....make sure you get the correct side if only using one.

Its a Recaro seat, not sparco.. Now I dont know if this applies but I have known guys to use sparco and momo seats with mugen rails on there type R's so Im assuming (or hoping) that the recaro will fit as well. Im gonna get a hold of king again to make sure..

Thanks
Mike

it's still the best way to go. narrow spg should fit well between rails. do you have long legs and need full back position? widest shoulder wings full back is 21" if i recall correctly, the width of the mugen.more room if seat is forward. you can remove interior trim and get an extra inch back there if needed.

For all that search, land on this:

I tested both rails on my Bride Zeta III

- Taitec seats the lowest, It can get you all the way to the floor of the car if your seat allows it.

Mugen rails actually dont seat that low, I believe even my Bride FG rails sat lower with my Zeta III.

The Mugen and SPG seats use the same mounting pattern and can use the same brackets/rails. I've had both on the same rails.

heres a pic of modified taitec rails w/ spg replica's
(rear cross brace on rails is removed)

basically touching the floor, maybe a 3mm gap.
if your bottom back portion of your seat is under 40cm wide then you can drop the seat between the rails.
