i sent my hood into the body shop last month to get it repainted.. unfortunately, just painting it would not work.. for those of you wondering why i had to have my hood painted, all i have to say is that korean girls are crazy. at first i believed that all i would need was a little bit of filler and some paint. not so! the key/knife/sharp object my exgf used to gouge out the pretty words into my hood with dented it as well. the body shop tried to fill, but after a few hours of sanding, filling, and redoing it over and over again without success, we went looking for a new one. luckily a junkyard in queens had a berlina hood with a small dent for $200. he painted it, and tried like hell to match it, but was unsuccessful. when wet, the color looked like an exact match (they were matching to my gas door, btw), but as it dried, it dried a tad too light. im going to bring in the entire car later to have it sprayed and matched.
following this thread --> https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=98128 , i ordered one of these things for $30. after $43 and 3 days, the intake came just as pictured. funny how it looks exactly like the knock off intake in a group buy here on s2ki.com (hint hint). i swapped out the nasty filter and used a k&n i had lying around. the intake didnt come with any instructions, and the instructions i found for other CAI's did not really help with the vacuum wiring. after fighting with it for about an hour, she was installed, and i must say that this could be the best $30 intake i've ever seen. the pipes are polished, and theyre solid. the insides of the piping had no burrs, and after inspecting it further, i dont believe that i'll have any problems with the inside of the pipe peeling or anything. mounting it was a tad tricky, the bolt they gave me was incorrect, so i used one of the rubber bushings from the oem airbox to fasten it down. like the aem, the intake touches the lower bar, and sometimes vibrates. i'll probably do the trick that others have done by slipping something to cushion it there. not having instructions is the worst part of the intake, but if you have some knowledge of what it's supposed to be like, then you shouldnt have any problems. i plan on doing the vacuum wires correctly (read - neater) when the weather gets warmer. let me say one more thing about the ebay seller "ssautochrome". when i received the kit (3 days), i was missing the 1/4" hose. i emailed him, and he fedex'd me 3 brand new hoses at no charge! i know he'll probably never read this post, but i feel that the feedback on ebay doesnt do justice to my satisfaction.
anyways.. onto the pics and vid:

yea, man, what the hell's wrong with korean girls!
i know at least 4 stories now, (now including yours...) how my friends' korean ex- gfs gouged out " you"s on their hood!
seung, how did you know that she wrote "F*CK YOU" on the hood? hahah!! could it be the same person?? i've dated plenty of women, mostly korea, but never have i encountered someone as crazy as my ex. when i went to her house to make amends and ask for redemption, her father chased me off the property with a shotgun. i then threatened to call the local authorities, and then thats when she caved in.
i am not saying in any way shape or form that *all* women are psychotic, just a few.. so be careful!
wow, i just looked at my hi-res pics.. jeez, my car is filthy! once the temps get above freezing (PLEASE GOD, LET IT BE!!!), i'll wash and wax her.. i guess my test drive after the cai install was alot harder on the tires than i thought
