Default ? for those of you with Lucid's dash control unit

I was looking for some follow-up reviews from owners who have had and used the unit for a little while. Also, I have an older Sony ES head unit (that uses the X2S remote) and I was wondering if Lucid's unit would work for me.

I beta tested the Sony hardwired DCI for Modifry (who designed it).

It works great, and I haven't had any problems except for one 'bug': if you mute the stereo, then accelerate, the speed sensitive volume control will raise the volume, which will un-mute it. Not a big problem, and you can disable speed sensitive volume if it bothers you.

You'll have to ask Lucid or Modifry about that specific headunit/remote.

Let me know if you have any other specific questions.

I have been using the SWIX (LUCID) unit for about 2 months now and I'm very happy with it's operation. My friend and I installed it in one day and had it programmed in about 15 minutes. I bought the completely assembled unit, becuase I'm not well versed in putting together electrical pieces.

I set each button to correspond to what it was programmed before, except for the mute button. That just shuts the whole system down now.

I think you really can't go wrong with this setup if you like using the dash controls.

I too have been using LUCID's SWIX for about 8-9 months without any problems.

I have the PAC SWIX as well . It works well.
There is a small delay though that is normal.
A small price to pay for upgrading the Stock Stereo to
a Pioneer 200 W MP3 Player that will even play unfinalized Discs.
It was nice to retain the Dash Controls.
Lucid's install instructions are excellent.

Mucho Props Lucid !

Firstly, One note of Caution. Since the PAC SWIX emulates the
wireless remote of your aftermarket radio it is important that
you pick a radio with a remote that has all of the S200O Dash Control
functions.
My Pioneer did not have a MODE button to switch between CD and Radio on the wireless remote so I used my Big Dash Button as a PAUSE CD Button instead. I decided to go with the Pioneer because
I loved the display and hardly ever listen to the radio.

The PAC SWIX works well.

I think I have the DEH740 MP . Beautiful Screensavers and VU Meters to amuse you at Traffic Lights !

STL:

I just installed my Lucid Sony DCU last weekend. Besides having to download the installation instructions off the website, the install went perfectly. I absolutely love the speed sensative volume feature. The only little quirk that I'm not used to yet, is having the hold the mode button and use the Vol+/- buttons to change Tracks and Presets. Besides that I have not had any problems, and this unit is (so far) much better than the previous Sony DCU that was on the market.

If you have any other questions about it, feel free to PM me anytime.

Ron
