Default Replacing stock speakers

is replacing stock speakers really make a big difference? I know nothing about stereo system or what so ever. Which brand and model is highly recommended, and also the price range (in case I get ripped off)? Thanks guys.

About a month ago I was faced with the same question and simply stated, YES! I couldn't see dropping a bucket full of money on a sound system for a noisy (love the noise) ragtop. I spent $125 on some Polk 6250s component speakers for the front, $40 on a Lucid rear speaker harness and $40 on these great little 4" Lightning Audio coaxial for the rear. As you can see I just spent a little over $200 and it made a world of difference top up or down. Oh, almost forgot, I also installed a disc changer in the trunk $200. Utilizing some of the installation post on this site the job took me about 2.5 hours. Good Luck.

If you have a MY2002 or later car you're better off installing rear speakers first. If you have an older car, start with the fronts.

All this is assuming you don't want to install an amp.
