Default Any "S2000 on Ice" stories?

I just drove my 8 mile trip home from work in Plano, and it took 40 minutes. My suspicion that the S2000 would suck ass on ice was correct. At 25 MPH in 3rd gear, increasing my throttle position from probably 15% to 25% resulted in wheel spin. I was pleased that the ABS performed great, but the rear wheel spin was a hand full. I made the mistake of downshifting at a couple stop lights, which almost resulted in collisions with the cars next to me.

Glad my car's in the shop. If it hadn't been before, it probably would have been after tonight!
Actually, I left work early so I wouldn't have to deal with the ice. Glad you made it home safely, though!

Hehe. Exact same experience here. 3rd gear, A/C on, 14mph (~1500rpm) and 30% throttle would break the rear tires loose. It was actually a little fun a couple times. Before it got really bad, I had the car traveling for several yards kicking up ice as I went along. I was pleased that it only slightly yawed from straight...

Any right turn would make my back end go out. Fun and scary...

I definitely had fun, but my old age is catching up to me, and the possibility of wrecking is not worth a small thrill. Although I did have a pretty damn good time in a parking lot on the way home. I had my own little "car control clinic". I practiced drifting, reverse switch-overs, fish tails, etc. for a solid 10 minutes.

DeeGYM,

What do you mean by "Whistler in March!!!" in your sig? Are you going skiing in Canada? TypeSH and I went skiing there in 2000 with the Alcatel Ski Club, and had a blast. That is the best place I've ever been.

I was going to run my RC car outside, but it got dark before I had a chance to get everything ready. 4WD, baby!
