Got these pics from a Hong Kong magazine called Option Fans Magazine. Has 15 (YES FIFTEEN) pages dedicated to fine tuning our beloved S2Ks. Too bad its in chinese and i can't read it. Anyways, the bit that interest me most are the following parts by a company called ARC (Abbey Road Company?) that seems to be a Air Intake/Cooler/Cleaner???
Anyone else can read the chinese symbols please enlighten all of us. Makes the engine bay pretty damn sexy if you ask me!

Cheers!

It said the Al box prevent the airfilter to change its shape and the location of the filter lower the chance of getting hot air in. The bigbox will inprove throttle response, too

This is a Ti metal heat shield to prevent the heat of the exhaust header to reach the brake booster and pump.It also had some grills for release the heat.

Now my own opinion, That air box combo will do you no good except you got a good looking shiney metal inside your hood. Honda actually state in a book(I forgot which one) that they decrease the volume of the intake mainfold for better throttle response.

The heat shield may be useful. But from my own experience that I had made a stainless steel heat shield mounted between the black shield and the abs and brake pump and it actually do quite a good job. No need to shell out big money unless you wants the look.

The ARC is made from Titanium. The air box has two areas for sucking in air and is similar in concept to the "mushroom" type filter. The titanium airbox prevents the changing of shape, and the surface area for air intake is really huge. It has the the ability to prevent sucking in of hot air(can't translate this sentence properly). The airbox was built with a large capacity for air intake which is an important factor for the car's throttle response as well as torque.

This is the picture on the right. This box is made of titanium too. It can store large amount of air inside. When the throttle is closed(that is, no air coming in), the box is able to still maintain air inside it. So when you open the throttle again, the new incoming air will force the air inside the box to the engine, increasing throttle response.

Wileecoyote summed up the second section very well.

Well, Titanium! That would explain the price.

What Wilecoyote said is correct, the intake manifold was made smaller to improve response. However, there may be power found with a larger manifold (at the expense of throttle response).

It's been found that the air filter box there will not fit in US spec cars because of the air conditioning lines. Just in case anybody was wondering.

indeed, but with a slight modification it can be. as far as i know, at least 3 S2Ks in north america has them. one of the owners stated a vastly different throttle response, but no dyno info.

cool, what did they do, change the airbox or move the lines?

I was told that they moved the A/C line(s).

The problem with this setup is that I have conflicting sources telling me different things. I was trying to get somebody to buy this from me at a significant discount so I can do a dyno on it. But I guess all the negative publicity scared away too many people.

Did you see that ARC installed pic I posted a while ago? It's on a LHD car, not a RHD car.

Yes, ARC stands for Abbey Road Company, due to the founder's love of the Beetles. Anyways, they make some cool stuff, and I'd be interested in seeing how their stuff performs. A chamber just in front of the t-body makes a lot of sense in terms of aiding throttle response.

Will post pics of their wilder creations later . . .
