Default Queston for people who ran wires THROUGH the console.

If you run wires, e.g., RCA cable, through (not along the side of) the center console, where do they come out on the HU side? I can see that they'd go under the "glove" compartment to get to the trunk, but what about in the other direction, i.e., after passing along either side of the shifter?

thanks,
gil

OK, I struggled with this for a few minutes too. With the HU out, you will see the Airbag module there, under where the HU goes. there are a few wire looms running in front of it, inbetween the SRS module (yellow loom) and the plastic frame where the HU goes. Follow the black one, you can wiggle it to see where it goes and to get more room. You cant see the hole, you have to feel it. There is enough room there for me to fit 4 lenghts of Monster cable speaker wire, 3 sets of RCAs and the amp turn on lead.

I ran mine down the side of the tranny tunnel under the carpet. This takes the pass. seat out and securing the RCAs to the wall. If you're going to the spare tire area you'll need 7ft, 9ft for vertical lines. Keep the power away from the signal wires.

sireousrex, you're a better man than I. I tried for a few minutes, then gave up. All my wiring runs through the door sills.

Nah, it was really easy. If you feel around that black loomed wire that is there, you will find the hole. Like I said it is plenty big to fit many wires through it. I should have taken pics, but I forgot. I had more trouble getting the speaker wire through the door tubes for my front speakers.

sireousrex, if your signal wires are all going through the center console, where did you run the power cable? Down the passenger side door sill?

Exactly. There is a grommet behind the battery that put the wire in just the right spot to run it that way.

That is exactly the same way I have done two install. Mine and a local owner. I used a coat hanger to hook the wire as it was run down the right side of the tunnel. Heck there is even an open clip to hold the loom.

I actually have a picture of this procedure on my web page for one of my mods.

While the mod was for something totally different, it should give you an idea of how to do this.
