Interesting topic from the I-Club forum
It's a little long, but interesting to say the least.
Be careful what you say on the internet, you can't be sure who's listening.

I just want to see on how many of you would tell on a fellow S2000 owner. Say some guy, some how over revved his engine, for some stupid reason that was only his fault, then Honda covered it under warranty. Would you email Honda of America complaining that this issue should not be under warranty like they did on I-club?
Although what the guy did was wrong, what the other guy(one who emailed dealers) did makes me pissed. I cant stand perfect little people who do see it as their place to do something like that.
If the dealer cant figure out that the car was modded/abused ect, then so be it.
Roku - No I wouldnt, even if I disliked the person, its not my place.

A good SoA mechanic would have been able to figure out what had really happened. I'm willing to bet from the amount of damage, that this guy was going to get shot down regardless.
Would a message board dicussion be admittable evidence in a courtroom? That could get pretty messy, you'd have to get transaction logs from ISPs to confirm everything.

I can't believe the guy got ratted out by another owner. That's just a C-Bag play, screw the moral high ground.
So what if the kid gets away with it. Follow the golden rule, what would you have wanted other people to do if you were this kid?
Sure it's easy to say you'd do the right thing, but faced with a 5k engine rebuild maybe you'd want to get away with it.
If anything him reporting it makes it harder for the next guy who really has a legit issue to get a covered fix. Because
they know 1 person almost burned them they'll just defer all the high priced repairs to their lawyers from now on to be safe.
Yet another reason to keep your mouth shut about these things. If your going to commit fraud at least have the common sense not to brag about it. All you need is one inspired "Do the right thing" kind of person to see it and your screwed.
Sorry If I offend anyone, but come on I'd help out a dumb kid over a large company any day of the week.

There are a few guys on this board who I really don't like. As much as I dislike them, I'd never do what 'Statman' did... rat on a fellow member be it friend or foe. Having read the thread, I was pretty pissed. Why are some peeps so G*d D*amn righteous!?
