Default White smoke

Today, I was doing a little spirited canyon driving and noticed that on hard right-handers, I would see a large cloud of white smoke behind my car. I've heard that some people have noticed smoke on auto-x and road courses. Any thoughts on possible causes? Do I need to get anything checked out, or is this normal?

nothing to worry about...just oil going somewhere it shouldn't, then getting burnt...(that was the techical version......).

Mine did it at the track, and a bunch of others...... i think mine only did it with the break in oil though...i don't remember.

wouldn't that mean blueish smoke? If it was coming from the exhaust...white smoke indicates coolant if i am not mistaken...then again...when looking in your rear view mirror, white ~= blueish smoke.

hard right handers, it's blue/white smoke of oil burning. A very common occurance when driven hard. Usually means you're pulling pretty good G's to make it happen

I can't confirm any bluish tint to the smoke, but I'll take your word for it. I guess I'll double check the oil level in the morning. Thanks, guys.

if you have white smoke coming out of the tail pipes... your car might be running too lean..
