Default how many red bars

are on the gas gauge by empty - one or two?

I could've sworn I had two but have one now, followed by a space, then the orange bars..

I think 2 bars, you get the gas light that comes on.

Depends. I've seen 1, 2 and 3. Others have said that the gas light is more dependable than the bars and suggest you can get up to approximately 20 miles w/ the indicator on.

I think I asked my question the wrong way.

I want to find out how many red bars are next to the E on the gas gauge, whether the tank is empty or full. Is it one or two?

thanks

I suppose the miles after the fuel light depends on how you're driving. But every time that I've gotten gas shortly after it came on, it took between 10.7 and 10.8 gallons. The gauge varied from zero to three bars at those times.
