Default Closed or Open Transporter for Cross Country Car Transport?

Is closed transporter really that much better cost wise? Open transporter fairly safe?

Thanks in advance.

Depends on how much you love your car and at what lengths are you willing to go to baby it.

I bought my NSX in TN and had it shipped from TX to CA for $675--open transport. Had to wash it when it arrived buy otherwise, fine. Closed transport is the best but be prepared to pay a premium. I wouldn't trust a closed transport company that charges less than $1k. To do it properly, it takes at least that much.

BTW, when you're shopping around for companies, ask what kind of vehicles will be riding along with your car. Mine pulled up with other high-line vehicles so I felt pretty safe about that.

One more thing (very important): Make sure your car is top-loaded. That advice applies with either open or closed transport. Good luck.
