Pre-Asheville IL meet, eat, and drive
I am calling on all IL owners to come out for a pre-Asheville meet, eat, and drive on April 21, 2001.
I'm thinking about organizing a lunch at a informal restaurant in the near Northwest suburbs (not set in stone), get to meet one another, go for a drive, get some pictures took, and so forth.
Who's interested, what kind of food/restaurants do you guys recommend, where would you like to park (for pics) what routes would you like to drive, so forth?
I'm looking for at least seven cars to participate......c'mon and sign up!!!
Greg, Jason, Meat, tmkarab, Young, Racerx, Hecash, Clark, brukie2 (sp?), GTRPower, Julianna, Soloracer, etc. I'm looking for participation and responses!!!

Myself, Juliann and Brad (soloiiracer) will be in TX for the ProSolo... Then we're trailering the car straight to Knoxville from there to prepare for Asheville. Flying to Chicago Monday, back to Knoxville on Thursday night. So the only nite I could imagine us doing this would be Wednesday before S2Kdays. Either that or next week sometime.

Do you guys like Chinese? If so, do you also like Indian food? If yes OR no, there's a new restuaraunt that's opened up in Schaumburg/Bartlett area.
It's Chinese food made with Indian seasonings and spices. The chef is a world famous chef that was cooking at a restaurant in Bonbay, India at a 5 star luxory hotel. He made his name there, and then opened a restaurant of the same caliber in Atlanta. Now he's opened one up here in IL and the food is AWESOME!!!!
In the 5 weeks they've been open, I've eaten there 5 times for dinner, and one time for lunch. Not all the items on the menu are spicy, there's a little something for everyone*.
*Exception, they are in the process of getting a liquor license so as of yet, they don't serve liquor. I think they may allow BYOB, but not sure....just may charge an "uncorking fee". Let me call to verify....the name of the restaurant is Hot Wok Village.
If people don't like this idea, then there's always Fuddruckers, Mongolian Barbecue (you make your own Chinese dish), Lou Malnati's, Uno's, Hooter's (the wife may not come, but that may just be an advantage
), Chevy Chase's Tex Mex, California Pizza Kitchen, Ikea Hot Dog stand (yum!), Portillo's, and for those of you coming from the city...you'll have to try Zippy's one day.
I'm open for all, except seafood....any other ideas? Just let me know so that I could make proper reservations and court off the needed parking spaces.
I'll post a hang-out spot and possible driving routes for those interested in "cruising".
