Nippon Exhaust Installation Pics (High Res)
Allright...finally got some pictures back from a friend of mine that took pictures of me putting in the Nippon exhaust.
I worked on the exhaust at a friend's bodyshop...without a lift...it probably would have extended by install another hour.
Nippon Exhaust Install:
Time: 1 and 1/2 hours
Tools: Metric socket set, a friend to help out, wd40, borrow someone's lift if possible
Parts
-It came with Honda oem gaskets and stuff...pretty cool

Starting off
-You have to remove that brace on the right hand side...not too bad.
-The cat has some hard to reach 10 mm bolts...use a socket flex extention.

Underside Shot
-Nippon exhaust has the ability to telescope horizontally and vertically (for the perfect fit). There are 3 brackets than can be loosened and the exhaust peices telescope.

Finish Line

Afterthoughts
Great looking exhaust. Most of the sound difference between stock is below 3000 RPM...after that, it sounds pretty close to stock. Installation was a breeze, the Nippon exhaust fits great (love the adjustment ability)...the hardest part is unhooking the stock rubber hangers. It's easier to take the hangers off of the car instead of the exhaust (leave the hangers on the exhaust and lift the hangers off the car...it helps to have someone push up on the exhaust). I can't say I notice a performance gain...but you really can't notice even a 5 HP gain.

(Sorry I'm throwing in some useless posts to get to 400!)
It does look good. I especially like the low profile of the mufflers(can't stand mufflers that 'droop')
How would you characterize the difference in the exhaust note from stock? Is it deeper or more high pitched? I guess a good point of reference would be the HKS.
And how much was it?
Thanks

MHK S2000,
Nippon is a bit lower than HKS at 1000 to 3000 RPM. After that...there isn't much noise comming out of the Nippon exhaust. The exhaust is from MG Racing...and it's $1000 plus shipping.

Hey Timmeh,
Nice exhaust buddeh. It sure was damn hot outside when you and Ada were working on that thing. I got there when it was 3/4 of the way done and I was sweatin' like crazy. I still haven't heard it w/you driving yet, but I'm sure it sounds pretty nice.
Peace.
