Well, for those who didn't know, my S2000 is gone. I had to sell it for financial reasons and because of getting married in a year. I have a lot of bills to pay off, and my future with my fiancee was more important. However, I do plan on getting a WRX STi within a year or two, once we are set and I have things paid off. For now I have a 2003 LX civic coupe that will be my race beast. lol. Though I'm sure Johnny will let me drive his every so often. I'll still be here, telling stories of killed focuseseses and neons.

So... on to the last race I ever had with my baby.

I was at Mcdonald's drive thru and the car in front me of was a geo storm. Upon further inspection he had a muffler, aluminum spoiler (with one broken arm), blue back half of car, red front half of car, and purple hood. Oh yes, and a nice VTEC emblem on the back.

He kept revving while in front of me in the drive thru. Whether or not this was to show off his finely tuned piece of shitbox, or simply to keep the car from dying I'll never know. Suddenly, an equally ricey bonneville pulls up. Some teenager with his girl, and neon lights EVERYWHERE. Under the entire car, IN the wheel wells, in the car, on his tailpipe (dont remember if he had two or not), and strobes going off on the dashboard. I can't imagine how he can even see, considering I was blinded from 20 feet away. Ricer 1 talks to ricer 2 (apparently friends), and the bonneville does a neutral drop with the tranny.

As much as I prayed that his transmission would retort with some sort of malfunction, it didn't happen. However, they "chilled" as I got my food and went on my way. The bonneville pulls out behind me, and gets next to me. We are in a 30 zone and I'm going 30. He's jerkin the car... forward... back... forward... back... rev rev rev. He REALLY wants to race.

Due to the area I'm in, I restrain myself until we hit a 45mph zone. Here it goes from 2 lanes to 1. And I downshifted so he could hear... waited for him to go... and demolished the last car my car will have the pleasure of humiliating. (at least with me driving)

So, on my way to the car dealer to drop off my car, I pulled out behind a BRAND NEW 2003 viper. Silver, like my car, and top down. It was an older guy cruising by himself. After meandering through traffic and going with the flow, he ends up behind me at a light. I take off on the green, and he stays right on my ass. Nice of him to humor me for a bit. I gave him a thumbs up in my rearview, and he waved back. I get on the freeway and he's behind me the whole time. Just 2 guys in roadsters, and plenty of people looking. hehe. (yes im sure his got more stares) My exit comes up, and I move over. I give him one last wave, and he returns again with a smile and wave. So my car had some company before it walked it's last long mile.

So the car is gone. Best car I've ever owned in my life. I've had more stories and good times worth in that car, that it has far exceeded the value of its $32,000 price tag. In my opinion, it was priceless. The thrills of ownership or having 6 S2000's cruise together is something I won't forget. Nor will I forget going to the garage to look at it just once more at the end of a day. Or the thrill of a 9000rpm redline. So goodbye to good times, and goodbye to a great car. The only car I ever shed a tear for when giving it up.

Yeah, it sucks that you had to let your car go like that. At least it ended with a bang. Good luck with your marriage.
