Default Has Anyone Ever Shaved The "H" From The Steering Wheel?

I want to do it, but I think the airbag (that it's on) costs over $800 to replace, so I don't want to mess it up.

Is it possible to remove the center cap before shaving the "H"?

If I can get the cap off, the rest is no problem.

I don't want to cover it up, I want the "H" out of there!

CAN ANYONE HELP?

-Pete

You can get the H out of there just take it to the dealership and have them diasble the airbag. Then you can take it off yourself without worrying about it going off. If you want it to be turned back on just take it back to the dealership and have them turn it back on.

Why do you want to do this?

Under the "H" there is a raised X that supports it. The "H" is attached with 4 tabs, they are pressed in like a staple is on a stack of paper. I would replace the wheel and airbag with something else.

I tried to remove it, but I would have destroyed it to get it off. I cut one of the 4 tabs to see if it was do-able and had to glue it back becasue of the distrotion I created by gently pulling. It is very thin and soft.

In reading your other post on the wheel centers, I would leave it on the air bag and work it there. That should get you to your goal

Why? are you looking to put something else in there or does the H embarrass you. An RSX wheel will bolt right up if your less embarrassed to drive an Acura than a Honda.

I think Honda should charge an extra grand $ for debadged cars, that option would probably sell well.
