Well, many people have asked about how the turtle from North Carolina was doing - and the answer is just fine. As you may know, yesterday I saved another turtle from death by tires on one of the roads we were on -- and I put him in the pen with the N.C. Turtle, and with my original turtle. I have had my original turtle for nearly 10 years now - I found (her apparently) while mowing my lawn - just before I would have run her over with the mower.

So I went outside to check on the health and happiness of the new, Pa. Turtle today - and to make sure that he was getting along with the other two turtles.

I found the N.C. Turtle hiding in a hole:

and on the other side of the cage this is what I saw:

the turtle on (her I think) stomach is the original NY turtle, and the one apparently standing (erect) is the new Pa. Turtle.

So I think that the turtles are getting it on just fine, thank-you. Oh baby ?

I checked it out - and apparently a longer tail means it is one sex as compared to a shorter tail meaning it is the other sex (I forgot which meant which though ??) -- so is that perhaps where we got that phrase about getting a little tail ?

As an update to the situation -- three hours after the first photos were taken the male from Pa. was getting it on with the OTHER (apparently female turtle) from N.C. -- this is something I had not figured on -- apparently I was running a boarding house for female turtles, and that new turtle from Pa. is one lucky turtle dude !!!

I did take pictures of the second liaison, but with S2000Vtec getting ill, and TepEvan not being able to stand up (what does that mean anyway?) I guess I should not post them....
