Default S2000 in the snow?

What do you guys do during the snowy season here in Utah?

I'm just wondering, because the S2000 will be my first RWD car, and I hear that RWD sucks in the snow. Do you guys treat your S2000 as your daily driver during the winter or do you keep it covered in the garage.

I was originally thinking of retiring my (future) S2000 to the garage for the winter and sharing my wife's Civic Si untill I can afford some cheap wheels for getting around in the snow.

Am I incorrect in my assumption that the S2k is useless in the snow? Should I just get the hard top and continue driving it like normal?

-- Thanks in advance.

Not from Utah, but yes, your assumptions are incorrect. With proper dedicated SNOW TIRES, this car is quite useable in winter. Mine is my year round daily driver. (What do you suppose people did before FWD?)
This is what I typically encouter:

The S2000 is easily driveable in the snow just as long as you do what xviper said and get dedicated snow tires

I use Blizzak LM-22's and have never had a problem yet...I have never needed to put any extra weight in the back. Infact I've made it through snow that has caused some SUV's to pull off the road...remember, it's not the car or the drivetrain...IT"S THE TIRES!

The S2000 is easy to drive in the snow as long as you use a little common sense (no redlining it around the corners ) and exercise a little caution...you'll be just fine

Unlike you guys, I would never dare drive this car in the snow, or on ice for that matter, but if you do, follow the above advice. Have a separate set of tires and wheels for the winter.

Or you can drive backwards. lol

I do not drive my S2000 in the snow. I drove it once and I will never again, but that was because of my All-Season tires instead of dedicated snow tires. You should be alright with snow tires. I've heard good things about the Michelin Pilot Alpin. My friend has them on his Z3 and it works well.

Mine is my daily driver and I have dedicated snow tires. I got my wheels and tires at Discount Tire for less than $800. 16x7 Enkei wheels and Yokohama 205/55 front and 225/50 rear.

Sounds like a good plan - I'll keep the stock rims around and mount snow tires on 'em.

As for summer usage, I'm thinking 17" Volk CE28N's. What do you guys think?
