Hey everyone,

My driver side windshield washer nozzle has stopped working. The passenger side nozzle squirts water just fine, but the driver side nozzle does not. So, I've got two questions...

#1.
Has this happened to anyone else's S2000? Is it a common problem with an easy fix?

#2.
If I were to try to fix it myself, how hard is it to access the lines that take the water to the nozzles? I took a very quick look this morning, and it looks like the hood lining needs to be removed. Any tips on how to get in there and access the nozzle lines? I don't want to just start poking around too much on my own due to fear of screwing something up.

I'm thinking the problem should be fixable once I access the lines underneath the hood lining. Since the passenger side nozzle works, I'm thinking maybe there's just some sort of blockage in the lines that lead to the driver side nozzle. I would take this in to the dealer, but I've only got 400 miles left on my factory warranty, and I will be passing that mileage before the long weekend is over. So, any assistance on helping me diagnose and hopefully fix this on my own is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot...

(P.S. For reference, my car is a '02)

Hmmm... In 3 years of owning my S (MY2000), I have never once used my windshield washer. Actually I don't know if mine works either. Maybe one of these days I'll try it just before I wash the car.
Sorry, I don't know how to fix your problem, but I think your analysis that it could be the driver's side nozzle is correct. I've seen people use a thin wire to poke into the nozzle to clear blockages. You may want to try that.

My passenger side quit working; had the dealer fix it. The replaced the whole nozzle jet and another component. My guess is they just replaced the system to fix it to be done with it. The parts couldn?t have cost that much anyway. If you want, I can lookup what parts they replaced and post it.

Maybe the hose to the squirter is clogged from not using it all that much. If all checks fail then just replace with light up ones, but make sure you either get the strobe ones or that you wire them to act like blinkers. J/P

I might take you up on that offer. Let me see what happens today first. I'm trying to see if I can sneak out of work for a bit, visit the dealer today, and at least get the problem documented. If I can do that, then maybe it won't matter if I use up the rest of my warranty mileage this weekend.

R-tistik s2k -
I'll make sure to get the replacement nozzles with ion bulbs. If I'm lucky, I might be able to find ones with colored city lights all the way around.

Anyone else? Thanks a lot guys, keep 'em coming...

lanbrown,

Ok, just spoke with the dealer, and they don't have time to look at my car today, so when you get a chance, can you go ahead and look up the parts you had replaced? Either post here or PM me is cool - thanks a bunch! I'm going to try poking the nozzle in just a few minutes here, but in case that doesn't work, I'm curious how much it might cost to fix. If it doesn't seem like it'll be that much, then screw it, I'll pay for it myself. I'd rather do that than spend a long weekend without driving the car due to mileage concerns.

Thanks again for the input, everyone. If anyone else has advice, or experience in removing the hood lining, then please post!

If you report the problem to the dealer before the warranty is up (which you have) then the mileage is no longer a factor as it failed during the warranty period.

I will lookup the information when I get home. I will probably post them here in case someone else has the same problem.

I agree with this. I had WAX clogged one of the nozzle. with a niddle I was able to get it out. if you want to replace the nozzle, Ganley honda gave me for $9 and change where my local dealer quoted for $18 and change.

cheers,
