It is with great sadness and sorrow that I bear the news of Dana's passing... At 4:45am this morning, Dana lost his battle with cancer.
With great spirits and optimism, Dana battled the Stage IV lung cancer after he had been diagnosed almost 18 months ago. He hardly missed any of our gatherings and was always in great spirits despite having to deal with his treatments.
Dana, you were a very brave man and we are much better for having known you. You will be missed, dearly.
HopkintonMA... RIP.
Funeral details, etc will follow either from Glenn or myself...

Dana, you were a light and hope to all of us to have kept such good spirits up no matter what the odds. Such spirit and support from all your friends around the world kept you going. You will live on in our memories.
You will never be forgotten.

I just talked to Dana's sister Beverly.
Visiting hours will be Monday 7pm - 9pm at:
Giragosian Funeral Home
576 Mount Auburn St.
Watertown, Ma 02472
The service will be on Tuesday 11am, same place.
This info will be in Sunday's Boston Globe & can be read online at http://www.boston.com/globe/ .
No more road trips,
No weekends in Maine watching grass grow,
But PLENTY of great, great memories.
Other than my wife, Dana was the best friend I've had my entire life.
Dana, you will be missed.

Even though I didn't know you Dana. The testimony on this board about your character tells me that the Earth has lost a rare soul and the Heavens have gained. May God grant the strength to his family to bear this loss.

We have lost a very close friend...... Some of you my or may not be religous... but either way I find this very comforting. Watch here
Dana may you rest in peace and may you rest knowing you'll never be forgotten by God, your family and friends. We will all never forget your smiling face.
My love and condolences to Dana's family.
Regards

I met you once, and your firm handshake showed me no sign of weakness. A handshake is not a sign of physical strength, but of character. A strong character makes a lasting impression, and on that occasion I'd made an instant friend. Bless you Dana, rest in peace.
Respectfully,
Mike
