Default De-restricting the speed for an Imported S

Hi

Any of you guys with imports had any problems with this? Has anyone had experience of fitting a de-restrictor?

Any advise appreciated

This question got me wondering?...... if Jap imports are restricted are the UK ones as well?

No, all Jap cars are limited to 113 kph.

Even the 500BHP Supra I drove !

KOBE Help !!!

I'm sure that mine (Jap Import) hit the speed limiter at 113 KPH. This would equate to about 70mph.

Depends on how it's limited. Some Jap cars have the speedo pulse going to the ECU as the limiter - it reaches a certain speed and the ECU engine management system cuts fuel/electric/various to the engine to restrict the speed. May be that all that is required is the pulse signal splitting (this is what can cost a bit) or, simply snip the wire.... (no signal - the ECU records the car as not moving - this may impact on other ECU engine management, depends on the car). Not sure whether this would work on the S, tho'
