An 11:00 a.m. (SHARP!!) departure time has been set by Paulie for the New Hope drive. The meeting place is a little west of Trenton, N.J., just over the Delaware River, where 95 passes from N.J. to Pa. . It appears to be in Pa., off of Exit 31B of I-95 :
It is at a park and ride 1/4 mile west of I-95 at the New Hope/Yardley exit
(Taylorsville Rd at Woodside Rd.)
we should arrange a time/place to meet in northern Jersey for the trip down together.
Eliot, your the best so efficient... . I was actually just sending Ralper
a PM about the NYC Metro group meeting some where ..... So I guess
we should meet at one of the rest areas off of 95 South ( NJ Turnpike )
so everyone post your suggestions so we can decide on a meeting place
and time.... Its got to be early enough to give us ample time to meet and
drive to the meeting place..... So lets get everyone's $.02 , witch rest area
time, who is coming, etc....
Why don't we just meet at the first rest stop southbound past the Holland Tunnel like we did last year. Anybody remember the name? I think it was between exit 13 and 12.
Guys - watch out. Many people identify the Turnpike with I-95 all the way. It is not in the Trenton area.
I'd suggest taking the TP to Exit 7A (I-195). Take I-195 WEST about 5 miles, and it will become 29 North. Take that about 8 miles, and you'll see the exit for I-95 South. Get on I-95 South, and go over the bridge. The Park and ride is the 2nd (?) exit after the bridge. They've renumbered them, I think its 51 now.
Another choice would be to take TP -Exit 9 (Rt 1 South), and take Rt 1 for about 20 miles. Get on I-95 South there (near Quakerbridge Mall), and go about 7 miles until the bridge. Follow as above.
I've added some arrows to Eliot's pic. The first is the TP. Notice, it's a little WEST of Trenton. Rt 1 is the very straight road that splits I95 and I295 just North of Trenton. The second has the arrows for I-195 into Rt 29. The third is the Ewing, and where I live.
That is the correct place on the map for the meeting place. How many of you guys are coming down (Including passengers) so I can update the list and give Applebees an idea of a count.
