SoCal 4 Channel J&S Safeguard Guinea Pig?
J&S is looking for a SoCal volunteer for an install of the new 4 channel SafeGuard system on a boosted S2000.
John just posted me and asked me to clarify his request:
(Thank you for posting my request, but "Guinea pig" was an unfortunate choice
of words. The product is proven in many applications. We simply need to
determine which version of the product to use with the S2000 ECU and coils,
and to document the installation procedure.

The Safeguard is more than just the simple knock retard box. It takes a "proactive" stance to timing control before the event rather than just reacting to knock after the event.
The neat thing about this model is that if knock is detected, even "silent knock", this model can pull spark from the individual cylinder that is knocking instead of having to pull spark from the whole engine. (#4 issue?)
It has a boost timing feature which allows you to pull timing based upon boost pressure and looks to be an answer to the timing control issues with a Forced Induction.
Unfortunately I am not in SoCal or I would do it.
If you are interested contact John Pizzuto @ jpizzuto@jandssafeguard.com
You can read about the unit @ http://www.jandssafeguard.com/safeguard.html
There is an article about the LeMans Corvettes using just such a system. (not the J&S brand)
I have access to the older 2 channel system and it apparently will not work, but the newer one looks good.
To date I have not found an acceptable way to control the timing under boost. EMS is too complicated, & eManage won't work with our coil on plug system. This unit is pricey, but looks simple and effective.
Here is a thread from another forum.

No volunteers?
Someone please talk to John.
This unit looks to be very good and besides I want one. Unless someone gets with him and he works out the connectors and install notes it will take me days and lots of cuss words.
