News is that they're producing a made-to-order SL65 AMG, fitted with a special 'M275' version of the 6.05-liter twin-turbo V12 found in the CL- and S65 AMG. In the top-model, SL-Class, however, it's slated to make a brutal 700bhp.

Also, the AMG trims (5.5 kompressor) of the current E/S/SL/CL55s will be replaced in '06 by a naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter big-bore V8. They're to produce 600bhp in the E/CL-Class, and a more impressive 650bhp in the S/SL-Class.
In Munich, the new E60 M5's power numbers are still to be finalized. Word is that BMW M may up the displacement to 5.8 liters and redline to 9000rpm, thus increasing power to 550bhp.

What is up with all these European auto companies? First Ferrari Enzo with 660hp, then Porsche Carrera GT with 612hp, then a Buggati Veyron with 1001hp, and now even Mercedes-Benz has one with 700hp! These numbers make the upcoming M5 look like a turtle.
