Here are a few low-rez photos of the car at last weekend race. We won and set the FTD by almost 2 seconds. Second place was an Integra Type R, so it was a Honda weekend.

Ecxellent Job, Pepe... and great looking car! I sure wish we had a road-racing series in the states that the S2000 is competitive in! Let's see some good shots of the coilovers and cage and all your other goodies... And are the results posted online somewhere? It's always nice to see a Stook at the top of the sheets!

Congrats on representing the S2K well!... Keep it up!

I don't have the FastTrack anymore but I thought I remembered 2600+ - not sure which end of that range, though...

Jason:

It was nice to finally meet you in Asheville. Did you get to see the GP? I ran across this new series announcement on the Grand Am website.

"Finally, the Grand-Am representatives presented descriptions of two new programs that could become reality in 2002 or 2003. A special sprint series for the smaller two-seater roadsters being introduced by many manufacturers is in the works with the expectation that the cars will be kept as close to stock as possible."

Sounds like a S2000 would work out well here.

Just received the weight for the S2000 from the SCCA: 2,700-lbs (T2).

Scott:

Is that the same as last years SCCA weight for the S2000 in T2?

Pepe... you are going to love the Motons and Mugen Bushings! That car will be awesome with that stuff. Make sure to post pics once you get everything installed.

JMark... caught the GP replay Monday night. WOW! Didn't expect that outcome. That sounds encouraging about the Grand Am series. I'll keep my eyes peeled for more info on that one. I love autocrossing, but my real passion lies in Road Racing. Could be a great opportunity!

Jason:

Talked with Neal Sapp (ran TC Klines S2000 last year, won at VIR and 4th at the Runoffs in the cold rain). He said the SCCA had dropped the S2000's weight by 100 lbs. (2650 lbs.?) and he felt that would be good for at least a .5 sec. per lap. He qualified 4th at the Runoffs by .6 sec. to a Boxster S with 18" wheels. Scott fix that T2 car and put Neal in it! Lime Rock and VIR are S2000 tracks!

The other week I instructed at Mid Ohio for a Viper Days school. I was able to get down to a 1:45.3 with some worn down BFG's. Sapp qualified 4th with a 1:44. Motons are def. the way to go. The car is awsome through turn one but in the back section through the esses its horrible. Getting the wieght down would be a very good thing. The S does not like it when I take passengers out,the lack of low end grunt wears down the car with another 200 pounds. I believe with motons and few tricks the S could be on pole at the Runoffs..... Hmmmmmm do I really need a street car??
