Washington Post article on hooked up cars
Anyone have any thoughts on this morning's Washington Post article on the craze over "hooked up" import cars, and the Barnes and Noble/Sport Authority crowd?

I like how they announced that they had an undercover police officer out on the streets with a hooked up car. I hope Brian Spilner doesnt find out about that I mean Dominik might read that articule and then he would be screwed.
Sheesh if that person did a report on public schools they would be shut down for sure! The author needs to get a clue and that stick out of their butt. That is a very irritating article, what a load of crap to cater to the conformist losers!
And this:"'There's plenty of room for innovation and fashion and the glorious creativity that the American motorist can come up with within the safety standards,' said DOT spokesman Tim Hurd."
That spokesman is an idiot too! They regulate everything down to nuts and bolts, that's like telling a great artist "We want you to paint the most brilliant mural of the sunset ever!" and then giving him only brown and grey to paint with.
America is just looking for more ways to write up tickets and make more money. It's not the parts that cause the problems, it's the drivers.

i didnt find anything wrong with the article. Lots of people gathered in one place will attract attention. the authors only fault is that he is probably in his 40s or 50, but i think hes at least trying to relate and be impartial. he didnt put it down nor did he push the "panick your kids are in danger" button. relax and read it again
Yeah, it seems to only get dangerous there when the kiddies decide to peel our their motorcycles or cars in the lot. That's not cool.
I think when s2ki met up there, we were more like 'model citizens', no one fooling around, everyone real friendly and chattin', showing off their cars and generally having a good time. No peelin' out, no revvin' the engines (too much).
I'd like to see it more often -- but I'd be more 'fraid to show up alone since the S2000 would be such a rarity in the field of Civics..
So.. anyone up for a late July meet? (gotta wait to get my ride back

I agree, I didn't think the article was bad. Naturally the government weenies will always try to impede freedom of expression (as seen from our side). But remember that some of those laws you are complaining about keep our cars safe and are meant for the masses, not the individual.
Oh
WTF. The Man will always be the Man and cops will always be cops. Just part of life my friends.
