Ok, so story goes as so.....

I'm cruisin out to the local mall to pick up some new sunglasses. As I proceed through a light I hear the unmistakable sound of a turbo. I look to my side and it just so happens to be a SRT-4. The guy driven is all grins, looks over and says "wanna go".

Now I have the top down and am cruisin by myself, as he is, and said "umm, sure". Wasnt in the real mood to race, was just out enjoying a nice day.

So, as soon as I say that this guy like gets in race mode, redlining around every turn we make and so on. He was following me, b/c i told him only on the highway. So we go around the back of the mall where there is about a 2 mile long strait road. I take a right onto the road, and take the left lane, as he comes in behind me, I slow down to try to tell him to take the next right onto the highway, get even, and i'll do three honks.

Well he wasnt having any of that, he gets next to me and just punches it, so i pursue him.. of course me being around 9 car lenghts behind b/c he just jumped the bejesus out of me, and i was in about 3500 in second gear. So he stops at the end of the road and I pull up next to him and say "jesus man u have to give me a chance" and his reply is "why do you have nitrous or something, im bone stock and wouldnt have a chance" i was like wtf are you talking about, and replied "no man, im stock too, u just jumped me like no tomorrow"

he responded with "well what do you want to do now" i said "lets take it on the highway" and he replied "why, you couldn't even keep up back there, fine lead" So i decided not to go on the highway, just go down the opposite way we went down that same road. And as we were going near 60mph or so, he agian just rips it without warning, and i cannot even pursue him seeing as their is a camry in front of me going 45. I said the hell with that and got in the left turn lane to go into the mall, he just went striat through the light.

This really pissed me off seeing as he was sorta an ass. I'm not trying to start flame wars here so dont pull that crap out, just aggrivates me how just drilled it without even warning me.

If anyone by chance reads this story on the srt forum please post here b/c i would like to see what this joker says.

If you think their driving is bad, their talk are even worst.
My brother raced one on the highway on his e46 m3 with ac and sports mode off and on automatic mode. Wasn't even trying and the srt driver was talking shit the next day about how much he hung with the m3. A bit pathetic really. From what i've read is their motto is "SRT4, the fastest car ever" HAHAHAHA

 

I know exactly what your talking about. Some people do NOT know how to race. I enjoy a nice street run but some people just don't understand the concept. They feel they drive a slower car and want the edge by getting on the gas before you do. I was on the highway with a 1998 Mustang GT that wanted to run. I kept trying to pace him so I could give three honks. Instead, the guy would mash the gas every time I would match his speed. He evenly learned and waited for my honks. We ran and he just got totally smoked.

 

I raced one about a week ago at a stop light, he was really kinda of a nice guy but he asked if I wanted to run and I was like sure lets go... So the light turns green and he drops it and we take off, first gear was close with my bumper sticking in front (that was post v-tec) well just about in second after v-tec hits I started pulling fairly well not insanely much but good enough to were you would definitely say I won 2nd and 3rd I continuously pulled very well!!! By the time we hit 80 I was about 2 cars infront!!! That was my experience with an srt4! ~nate

 

if driven well, SRT4 is a one fast car! it traps around 99-102mph stock.

I doubt u got totally smoked...especially since hte best u can pull of in ur car is a 14.48...GT's run right around there...good race none-the-less! GTs are fun to drive...never driven an S2K, just ridden in one.

SRT's suck.

Someone told me they can run low 13s, and being stupid as i am sometimes, i believed him. So i was driving home on I-75 and i had my g/f with me. This guy in a SRT-4 comes up next to me and starts revving. I was like: "Oh man, I might get beat in a 90,000 car by a 19,000 with my G/F watching!!" GRRRR So i decided to...downshifted to 3rd at 75mph and by 120 I already had 7 car lenghts on him (at least). They are not very fast at all. I heard its hard to find traction on them and thats why no one runs low low 14s in them
