My dealer and I have been dealing with Honda Canada for my 1st to 2nd gear grind problem. The trouble and the funny thing is that Hondtechline, the technical arm of Honda Canada has had NO documented cases of the 2nd gear grind in our cars!!!

Is this a joke, since I know of at least a few from Canada that had wrestle with dealers on this issue.

Post up here if your from CANADA and have/had the 2nd Gear grind problem.

If you do, make your dealer report it to Hondatechline, please start now or current and new owners will have to fight the same losing battle over and over since HONDA CANADA claims to no documented cases

that is a joke.

Call Castle Honda here in Toronto 416-745-7060 and ask for Mark in Service. Tell him Simon from the Toronto Club sent you. I'm sure he'd be able to send you pages of faxes or other written proof of this problem even though you are out of province. He is a nice guy and takes care of many of the T.O. clubs' cars.

Thats BS, might even be the dealer BSing you. I saw the candian TSB with my own eyes for MY00 explaining the problem and recommending that the car should be driven gently for the first 1000 kms...

On some issues I had, some dealer was playing dumb and saying they called techline and there is no TSB, went there 4 times and they never found anything... I went to another dealer and they found it within 2 hours!

Don't trust your dealer, they might pretend to be on your side but in most cases, they aren't.

Sev, do you have documentation on your dealings with the dealer or Honda Canada from your 2nd gear woes? I am happy to hear that you've moved on to the 350Z.

Anyway, I called Honda Canada Customer Relations myself to verify the story the dealer was telling me and it was true, Hondatechline told my Customer Relations Rep that there was NO documented cases. This is a big joke and I intend to gather all the evidence and testimonials to disprove this dubious claim.

Thanks for noticing but I've documented and kept the dealer in the loop the whole time. I grind when the tranny is hot now, and have a 1st gear sticking problem when it is cold. I've changed the tranny fluid 4 times in one year and recently changed the clutch fluid also. I've almost exhausted every possible home remedy for this problem. That is why I brought it to the dealer and now I get this story from Honda Canada. I am not impressed.

So this is actually an answer from Honda Canada or a dealer?

This is the answer from HONDA CANADA not the dealer. The dealer was repeated what HONDA CANADA told them.
