While walking home from the train last night I saw a big overhead sign. The kind they hang across the street between light posts. It read "May 12th 1st Annual Red Bank NJ Exotic Car Show". Not classic car, but exotic car show.

Well, I called the guy up today and it is a show for modern sports cars. I told him that I knew of some Honda s2000 owners who might want to show the car and he said that they would be more then welcome. In fact he is going to order a trophy just for the best Honda.

It sounds like a great opportunity to show off your cars. He said the local Porsche and Ferrari clubs will be showing up as well.

Anyone interested? I'm going to be auto-x'ing that day so I'll have to decide if I want to race or show the car. I know there is a meet planned for the 19th, but maybe you guys would want to move it to the 12th. He said the show officially starts at 9:30 am and runs till 3:30 PM. Judging will take place around 1PM. He said you could arrive as late as 10 or 10:30 and you don't have to stay till 3:30.

The event will benefit the Red Bank Charter school.

I think it would be a great day, what do you guys think?

Tom,

Where is this autocross at, I'd be interested in going if I get my car fixed by then. And how far away is the car show? Thanks.

I haven't seen the sign, but I'll plan to go. Where will it be held, in Marine park?

auto: The autocross that weekend is at Englishtown, Raceway Park. Registration closes at 9 AM and is an all day affair. You wouldn't be done till 4 PM.

Starbrd: There are two signs in town. One above Broad street by the Murphy Style Grill and the other is on the Old Schwartz Mazda dealership. As far as location, the signs say that the event is on Front Street across from the library but I'm not exactly sure where they would have it there.

Swurvydel: I think you would have a great time if you came down for the event, plus you would probably walk away with a trophy.

FYI Red Bank is exit 109 off the parkway and is a great town to spend the day. Nice location, lots of boutique shops and some great bars/restaurants. It is surrounded by some of the most expensive real estate in the state, Rumson/Navisink river, so I would expect to see some nice cars there.

I went to the show. I had the only S2000 there and received the Japanese car trophy. There were mostly Porsches (no Boxters), two Ferraris, a BMW Z8(!), Vipers, 2 Prowlers, a Shelby Cobra, miscellaneous others.

Way to go Starbrd! I wish I could have gone. I'm still surprised that we haven't run into each other yet. I'll keep and eye out for you.
