Default Forum options changed

We have changed the # of posts per page on the forum from 50 to 25 to test to see if it improves the db performance.

This may or may not be permenant.

No wonder.. but seems to me like you left out the check to show if you have participated in the thread or not on the left hand side ( i think on the little folder). At least mine are gone, and even if I post more in the thread the check does not appear again. just wanted to let you know

yes that is temporarly off too. It will be back tho. just checking out the effect on load.

heh heh, i was wondering how that function would slow the system down...if anything it makes getting to another location alot quicker for us and for the system...thanks for the quick response

yeah it doesn't its a small select.

ultimately we need a much bigger database server. The problem is we are gonna need a very big and expensive one. :|

We've exhausted the cheap options. Just trying to get more pep out of the current one.

It might be time to look at something better than vBulletin to run this site as I'm prety sure some of the newer code runs more efficiently.

yes and I put it back. But its a pretty nasty join.

We're switching to VB 3.0 when its done. We actually run a very optimized version of vb.

Really we need a bigger DB server.
