Default new vortech sc & SRS & CEL

Well I just installed the new intake And it sure moves now... so anyway. Ever since I installed it, the SRS light has been on and I can't figurer out why. Also, today on my way to work the check engine light came on... And decided to stay on.

Tomorrow I will have to get a hold of my friends obdII and scan it... but any ideas? I did a search and I didn't really get anything significant.

Have you checked gas cap? I had CEL mysteriously lite up and it was gas cap was not clicked tight enough, anyway after clicking it tighter and three driving trips later CEL went off.

As far as I am aware, Vortech's black box is not 03 ready yet.
Is your S a 2003 model?
Did you check with vortech about this?

I think vortech like a 03 owner that they can do a test one. Pity that you are a little bit far away from Vortech head quarter.

Good luck

When I had my vortech my srs light came on too. Now that it is off it is still on . I think I must have cut a wire or something when I was mounting the black box. Your CEL can probly be explained because the vortech kit is not 03 ready yet...

Currently, the Vortech S/C is not guaranteed to work right on an '03.

it's a '02. Sorry about the confusion with my name.
Didn't get a chance to hook it up to my friends obdII yet. I've been at work doing manditory OT.

I did try pulling the battery to see if I could reset the ecu. It didn't work, the code stayed and so did the SRS light.

Could be several things. The EPROM settings are the same for '03 as far as I know which we now know is irrelevant. Please have your friend pull the codes and note if his syatem is OBDII Exsplorer or Honda Scan Tool. Several of us here can help. Also note if ANY other mods have been done to the car (specifically electrical).

I'm going over his house either monday morning (after work) or tuesday some time on my day off.

There are no other mods at all on the car. Totally stock even the radio is stock except for the vortech sc.

I'll post the codes after they are pulled.

It's really the srs that's killing me right now. I'll probably call vortech in the morning on tuesday... they hate me over there. The kit was awefully put together and I must have spoken to them about 20 times regarding missing parts. It wasn't just a breathing element I was missing either (althouh I was missing that too). Some were rather important like the pully idler locator bolt, a sc spacer, the mounting bracket for the black box... So I'm sure they're getting tired of talking to me... but that's what customer support is for right?

Thanks for the help!
