Default New Oil Filter

Hey--- just FYI, there is a new oil filter for the s2000 from Honda. The old part # 15400-P0H-305, will be discontinued and will be replaced with 15400-PLM-A01 or -A02. And our s2000 will have a specific part # 15400-PCX-004. The A01 and A02 will be for the other cars. I just checked with parts dept. and don't stock'em yet.

The PCX filter is made by Toyo Roki. It is the same size as the POH filter. The PLM filter is smaller than the old style filter. Honda is simplifying the oil filter selection. The POH and PLM filters could be interchanged,So they will be saving a big pile of money just making 1 filter. Acura did the same thing with the Legend/NSX filters some years ago.

So, is there any benefit for us with this filter? Whether it's flow or filtration? I remember a thread about our 3 filters, and how the Toyo Roki (jdm) filter was better one of the honda filters. Just wondering if this filter is any "better", since the PCX filter is S2000 specific. By better I mean by better than the old Honda one it replaced. Thanks for the info/update....

Part# most definitely exists. I work at a Honda dealer, Last week AHM sent out a message to all dealers about the filter change. I have seen the new filter- My parts manager ordered 5 of them. They are visually identical to the previous POH filter. Generally the Toyo Roki filter has a better reputation as a good filter. I have seen the POH Filtech/Fram filters leak at the housings, as well as having the wrong threads cut into them. Basic made in the USA quality control prob's.

I don't know If the Canada dealers got the same message, or if they can order them.

Buy the K&N from someone (like Martell's). Honda continues to jump over dollars to save pennies......but then that's what happens when you miss your target market by a mile.

Correct Kenichi San?
