I just got my September Issue of Road and Track, and it says that Honda will produce an S1000- "... a front-engine/front-wheel-drive roadster with the look and feel of the S2000 and the driving character of the S2000."

Unfortunately, it may not be brought to the US because of it's tiny size. "The engine is reported to be a high-revving 1.0-liter inline-4 with 120 bhp. The car will weigh in at about 2000 lb."

It says that if it were brought here, it would cost under $20,000

You lost me at "FWD".

I guess it could be a BMW Mini fighter, only without the wildly popular history behind it. Then again maybe it's best kept in Japan.

 

I'd be all for them producing such a car, but PLEASE don't make it look like the S2000.

 

It had a picture, and it doesn't really look like it. The front is completely different w/ bug-eye style headlights, but the side view looks pretty similar

 

Make it RWD and with Elise performance, and I'm there.

Sounds almost like a CRX Si. If it had the cargo capacity of the CRX, it'd be a winner too.
