Has anyone tried this on their USDM S2000s? What would it take (the easiest way) to mount the fog light onto the rear black diffuser piece? I guess the simplest way would be to somehow get the entire black diffuser (with the fog light in it) and attach it to the bottom of the car and wire it up to a switch inside.

Yea I could cut a hole but it would look hacked and would not look clean. I guess if one were to do this, they should just get the entire rear bumper piece.

Someone on the board has already executed this mod/conversion.
I am sorry I do not remember who but you may want to do a search.

not true at all as Darknight1999, GS2k and I did it on my car - yes you have to remove the rear bumber (not a big deal) and then inside the bumber there is an imprint or template that shows exactly where to dremmal the hole out (start by cutting the hold a little smaller than the line).

i ran the wires to my center console and modified a rear defrost switch for the 00 - 01 to turn the light on.. Boy is it bright here's a picture of the completed project.

on Euro cars, the fog light switch is behind the wheel on the left side, right where the cruise control would be on US cars I believe.

Yes it is bright I've only had to use the sucker 3-4 times so far.

just out of curiosity... why choose a red color if it's a rear fog light?

you are 100% correct Truedrezzer - hence the reason i used a rear window defrost switch (right behind the cup holder)

my2k2s2000 - the reason for red color is because a white light would blind the folks behind you..

the sole reason for the ERO fog light is because it helps drivers behind you see you in heavy fog - now we really don't have this problem in the States BUT it still helps - i use mine during the holidays (worried about drunk drivers hitting me from the rear) and when some one is tailing too close
