I can't keep it a secret any longer.

Just over a week ago I negotiated the purchase of a used Comptech SC from a seller in the US. Assuming it clears customs quickly I should have it next week.

I've already made a crank pulley removal tool out of a 50mm hydraulic flange nut and a big piece of steel. My first effort at welding was woeful but then it doesn't have to look pretty. Oh, and just so you know, whilst looking into this I sent an e-mail to Powerbuilt about their new tool specifically for Hondas. I got a reply today from them saying it wasn't released yet, but they'd send me one for free! How cool is that!

I've got an enlarged throttle body (had it for about a year) and V-AFC all wired up and ready to go. I've got the new fuel pump and ESM coming direct from Comptech and the rest of the kit should have landed today.

I have to say, planning this mod has made me feel all my previous mods have been pointless (with the exception of brakes, braces and suspension) and I think I'll be pretty satisfied once I've got this thing installed. That said, an Aus Intercooler Kit will probably be my next project.

I've spent so much time reading and re-reading the Comptech install manual that I'd be surprised if I don't knock it over in about 4 hours. Then some dyno time for good (but safe) results and I'll be ready for the track day on the 30th.

Yeee freaking haaaaa!

Good luck.
U can start doing the fuel pump now.
Just make sure you have a near empty tank or you will get a very good kick from sniffing too much petroleum vapor.

Just make sure the fuel level floaty is functional with the new filter before you clip it in. If it doesnt use the OEM.
I used the OEM filter with my kit.

I love that. Some people said the same about Vortech when they released their SC.

Wayne, just wondering....why not buy the turbo kit Adrian is selling. That would be awesome...it would rip the S2000 with the SC anyday. But turbo cars caused more problem due to owners getting itchy fingers (you know what I mean) : )

Congratulations! I just installed the Comptech SC 2 weeks ago and it was not all that bad. Just a few pointers, the worst part was the crank pulley but sounds like you have that one licked. Another problem was the v-tech block it has 3 small bolts and one big one start the big one in the back first than the small ones, be careful of the single wire that runs out the bottom of the v-tec solenoid it got pinched during install & was cut. Also the SC pulley that bolts to the new crank pulley has very small stainless allen screws that if torqued to much will snap ( one of mine did). Wiring the ESM was fair just make sure you have the right plug to splice into, it will say on it the num pin as states in the directions. Fuel pump was not that bad just make sure that you pull the 15amp fuse and turn the car over to relieve pressure.

Hope this helps out, or if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Brad

Nice pointers Fasttrack. Thanks for those. Can't wait to begin.

ToTheMax - Like I say, I don't have THAT kind of money. That's $6K plus probably another $2-4 for a computer and tuning etc. And then there's the possibilities for problems. Much more work involved in a turbo.

The SC isn't costing anywhere near that. And having read and re-read the intructions ad infinitum I expect to knock over the install in 4 hours.

And at a cost of $4K. Watch honda9krpm cringe. The 9k in his sig doesn't refer to his redline.

Then again, I guess he gets a chuckle everytime he thinks about Sydney housing prices.
