My last thread was locked cause I expressed my opinion that I didnt lock the direction the site was taking..

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=146603

I post this before he ever said anything to me about my sig .. Proof.. I posted @ 2:59 he then send me a PM @ 3:10..

Hmm.. I Wonder why??

Also I shorten my Sig to what is below..

But I also add in there that I sell BMW, Toyota, VW, Mazda, and subaru ... And I include my Cell number so local members can contact me..

This is then removed..

Here are the rules for selling on S2KI:

Dealers selling new cars

If you are a dealer of new cars you may place advertisements for those cars in the Group Buys and For Sale forum provided than the car is listed at or below MSRP and the purchaser is not required to purchase any accessories (no forced options) in addition to the base model.

Those are the only times when a non-sponsor may may offer items for sale on the forums.

Im then told that now it can only be S2000's ??

WHY??? Where does it say that??

IT DOESNT!!!

I feel like I am being harressed for standing up and saying "I DONT AGREE"

Does anyone else see my side or am I just crazy ??

-JB-

PS.. If this thread is locked it will be a complete violation of the rules.. And thus just another stepping point in my agrument

It's you. Think about it. This is an S2000 site. Normally, to sell ANYTHING you have to be a sponsor. However, there was a time when S2000's were sold over list by most dealers. Therefore, it was/is a benefit to the members of this site that might be in the market for an S2000 to allow dealer's that are willing to sell them at list to advertise. Other brands don't get this benefit because this site is an S2000 site.

Plus if you read it carefully it specifically says "new cars" and "those cars" not "S2000's" or even "honda's"

I don't care what it says. I was the For Sale/GB forum moderator for 18 months. I know the rule, I know why it exists, and I enforced it for a LONG time. You aren't being singled out. The rule has been interpreted and enforced the same way for years. In future, If you don't want to know the answer don't ask the question.

I would suggest that the easiest way to address this would be to tweak the writing of that rule, because it isn't very clear.

Strike, just because you interpreted that generic rule to apply only to S2000s and enforced it that way does not mean that you were right in doing so according to the way the rule is written.

I understand the spirit of the requirement, but it would be very simple to close the loophole and avoid confusion in the future.

Seems a far less controversial decision to make than some of the other things around here, too...

The wording is just fine. We are not lawyers, but if you don't know what car this site about why are you here? You completely glaze over the other policies about no commerical posting if you aren't a sponsor and you try and pick apart our policy so that we have to hire lawyers to write it?

All this whining and tantrum, just because I asked you to make your mile long sig shorter. Are we in grade school?

If a moderator or an admin asked you not to post something or to change your signature then they do so in the best interest of S2KI and all of its readership. You don't have to agree with it but that's the way it is.

Regardless of whether a rule or policy says this or that, if you are directed to take some action or whatever then please consider the rules officially changed. We aren't going to have some legislative debate about section 6, sub section 12, paragraph b. Simply do or don't do as asked and everyone will be happy.

Why is it such a big deal and why do some people get so bent about such things? If a mod says you can't post something then you can't. Be happy.
